Turtles Hatching

We woke up at 4:30 am to travel an hour away to a beach called Ostional, where we were told we could see thousands of baby turtles hatch and make their way to the sea.  There weren't thousands this particular day, but we did get to see maybe 100.

To see those tiny heads poke out of the mound, then their tired arms, then their whole body, was absolutely amazing.  They'd been working on digging themselves out of the sand for a couple of days and they looked exhausted! How do they know how to do that?  They just kept coming, one after another, and then slowly worked their way down the beach.
