Catamaran Snorkel Tour

This catamaran tour was sooo much fun!  We sailed across the bay sipping endless fruit drinks and relaxing in the net at the front of the catamaran.  When we arrived at the snorkeling destination, I took Eliza and Lincoln in a kayak around the bay while the others went snorkeling.  Lily used a kids snorkel, which was a floating raft with a plastic viewer.  The guide, Pablo, found a turtle, dove down to grab it and brought it back up for us all to touch!  It was only about a foot long and so cute!  Then Pablo found a puffer fish, poked it gently so it would puff up, and then let everyone hold it!  The spines were not stiff, but rather soft.  It only puffs up to look big, not to stab.

They fed us a delicious lunch and then we headed back to land.  A lovely morning!

We had unlimited glasses of AMAZING fruit juices, but I just can't stand that they were served in a beer cup!!! Ugh.

Jade found a little friend from Quebec and was able to practice speaking French!  She hates it when we tell French speakers that she speaks French, but we're so jealous that she can and want to hear her!

Traffic is crazy with the holidays and there is only ONE road, so it took about forever to get to Playa Negra, where we were hoping everyone could try surfing.  By the time we got there the tide was so low that we explored the tide pools instead.  We found crabs, sea stars, sea urchins, and lobsters.  Adam, Brigham, and Richard even tried some fresh clams from a local, straight out of the tide pool.  They said it tasted like sea water.  Yum!
