Our house was walking distance to the island, which was only accessible during low tide. We walked for about an hour to get there, since there were so many little hermit crabs to find in the hundreds of rocks that made up the terrain. There is a cemetery that dates back to pre-Columbian times and is still used as a burial ground.
Then we came home and caught some giant toads on our porch. The kids aren't content to just observe wildlife. They have to touch and experience it all:).
Pretty adventurous!
