Perfect Last Day at Playa Negra

Can it really be our last day at Playa Negra???  How perfect that the weather was AMAZING!!!  It was finally sunny!  We waited three long weeks for the sun to come out and now we're leaving!  But I'd rather leave in the sunshine that have the weather turn bad and leave in the rain.  We were in the water for hours and hours.  The Caribbean Sea is so warm and the kids were so happy in the water!  We'd just lay in the water and let the waves roll over us and drag our hands along the sand until we felt little live sand dollars.  They were everywhere! Our faces relaxed in permanent smiles of contentment.  How could life get any better?

We love our red van!  We created so many wonderful memories in it and are so grateful we had it!  Brigham drew this sand picture of it!

Adam was inspired by Brigham's picture, so he created one too:)

We love Costa Rica so  much!!!  It will always have a special place in our hearts!

Jade made me a cute mermaid tail!

Brig made some sand chains on his huge sand thighs!

These little fruits were SO delicious!  On our way to the beach we loved to stop at the frutaria and pick up a bag of something and today it was these.  They had a soft, spiky shell that could be broken open to reveal a sweet, grape-like fruit.  So yummy!

I couldn't decide which picture I liked best.  I just love my little family and love the beach SO much!!!  It was a perfect day!

Cahuita

Cahuita National Forest is so beautiful.  This 2 mile boardwalk was built through the forest , raised up on stilts above the marsh.  We could hear hundreds of frogs, birds, monkeys, and insects and loved being so close to nature.  Adam said he'd pay $10 to the first person who spotted a snake, a glass frog, or a caiman.  Game on!

I can't think of many things better than spending quality time with my family.  We have experienced so much together and have become soooo close.  No one fights or argues and we are all so happy.  We are understanding why Costa Rica was voted the happiest place on earth!  The weather, the fruit, the forests, the beaches, the slow pace...it's all so wonderful.  Coming here for 3 months was the best decision we've made for our family!

Ding ding ding!  We have a winner!  Brigham spotted this sneaky caiman!  It was gone within a few minutes.

How cool to see this golden orb weaver spider catch this dragon fly and eat it!  We spent 3 hours just watching all the living creatures do their thing.
